In participating in the Fabulous40Plus portrait Special, Trudy said “What I hoped for was far exceeded by this photoshoot.  It made me feel like a woman and not a nobody. This was my first experience at something like this and it was an absolute blast. I had no fears or concerns as I have met with Caroline and instantly felt a connection and knew I could trust her to bring out the best in me and am sure everyone she works with. She is a true inspiration to me.”

Trudy enjoys yoga, walking and trying to eat to stay healthy and fit. She works in a clerical position. Some of her most challenging times have come when she first immigrated from her home country of South Africa and falling on hard times. Seeing her mother killed was one of her hardest memories. At 64, she is motivated by always being positive and seeing the glass half full. She believes in getting up, getting dressed and getting on with it!

Fun things about Trudy

What are you self-conscious about (if anything) that you think other women could relate to?

My wrinkles, cellulite, and not having enough confidence.

What would you say has changed about the way you see and feel about yourself and/or how do your new portraits make you feel?

It definitely made me change my mind when I saw the pictures, it revealed the true me, the one I want to be, and never saw myself in that light before.

Your thoughts on the Fabulous40plus project – how has it helped you in anyway.

This is a great project and I am sure that I speak for all the woman who went through this amazing experience.  It makes you realize that besides being a mom, a sibling, a daughter, that deep inside you are a young diva.

What does the future look like?

Future should be interesting.  Writing the last chapter of your life should be happy and doing what makes you happy, it is in giving that I find peace and pleasure.
